Our story

Designed by kids,
run like a real business.

Alex Max Designs is a print-on-demand business. Two parents started it, their kids design the shirts, and the kids split the profits.

How it started

It started at the kitchen table. The parents of Alex and Max wanted a better way to teach their kids about money than an allowance and a lecture, so they started a business and put the kids in charge of the designs.

The kids do the majority of the designing. Alex and Max dream up the ideas and create the artwork for every shirt (with a little help from AI tools). Mom and Dad handle the grown-up side: production, listings, and keeping everything running.

Alex and Max split the profits. Every sale shows them how business works: what things cost, how pricing works, what profit means, and why saving matters.

How the business runs

1

The kids design

Alex and Max come up with the ideas and create the artwork for every design in the shop.

2

We handle production

Each order is printed on demand and shipped straight to you, so there is no inventory.

3

They split the profits

Every sale shows revenue, costs and profit firsthand, and the earnings are split between the two designers.

What we're teaching

Creativity has value

An idea in your head doesn't pay. An idea on a shirt can. The kids are learning that creativity is a skill people will pay for.

Where profit comes from

Revenue minus costs is profit, and the costs are real. Every design decision comes with an actual cost breakdown.

Earn, save, repeat

Splitting real profits makes saving feel real too. Learning to save is easier with money you earned yourself.
